How to avoid plagiarism without rewriting everything?

Bruh, I’m strugglingggg with how to avoid plagiarism without rewriting my whole paper. Every time I try to reword stuff, it either sounds weird af or still too close to the original. I don’t wanna get called out for it, but I also don’t got time to sit here rewording every single sentence for hours. How do y’all make this easier?? 😩

Dude, use a quote sandwich 🥪. Basically, you introduce the quote, put the actual quote in (with proper citation), and then explain it in your own words. This way, you're not just copying but actually engaging with the material. My teacher literally told us that paraphrasing is cool, but sometimes it’s better to just quote and analyze instead of struggling to reword something that’s already clear.

Not gonna lie, citation generators save my life 😭. If you’re stressing about how to avoid plagiarism, just cite everything. Even when you paraphrase, dropping a citation makes it clear you’re not stealing the idea. Also, check your school’s rules – some are super strict about what counts as "too close" to the original, so it’s good to know where the line is!

Yo, I was today years old when I learned about quote sandwiches 🥪😂. Makes so much sense tho – professors love when you actually engage with the text instead of just trying to rewrite it. Gonna try this!!!!

Okay, listen up – use more than one source for the same idea. If you only read one, it’s super easy to copy how it’s written without meaning to. But if you check out 3-4 different articles, you’ll start to get the bigger picture and write it in your own way. Plus, it makes your paper look way more legit, so it’s a win-win!

Fr, quote sandwiches are a game-changer . AI be out here paraphrasing everything into the most robotic nonsense, but actually breaking down a quote shows you get the material. Professors eat that up lol. Definitely using this more!

AI can be kinda clutch for this 😅. I don’t mean having it write for you, but if you put in a sentence you’re struggling with and ask it to explain it simply, it can give you a different way to phrase it. Just make sure to tweak it so it still sounds like you.

Bro, I used to spend forever trying to reword stuff without making it sound awkward. Then I started doing this thing called text chunking – basically, I read a section, step away for a bit, then try to write what I remember in my own way.

Wow, that actually sounds smart. But how long do you step away? Like, are we talking a few seconds or do you need a whole break?

Honestly, just a couple of minutes works for me. Long enough to not have the exact wording stuck in my head, but not so long that I forget everything 😂. Sometimes I just scroll my phone for a sec, then come back and write it out.

There are plenty of tools online that can help with rewriting - QuillBot, Scribbr, Phrasly, and these are just the first ones that came to mind.
